How Storepass Prices Singles by Condition

Created: 10/24/2024 | Last updated: 6/11/2026

Storepass can price singles from a TCGplayer source price and then adjust the generated price for each condition. Most stores use the standard workflow: choose the TCGplayer price source for the card or finish, then let Storepass apply the condition discounts from the product line's grades.

Stores on Pro or Enterprise can also price from TCGplayer condition market prices when that data is available. This is useful when you want each condition to follow its own market instead of using Near Mint as the anchor.

  • Standard pricing: Uses the selected TCGplayer source price, then applies the condition discount configured for the product line.
  • Condition market pricing: Uses the TCGplayer market price for each condition when available.
  • Manual pricing: Locks the listing so automated retail rules do not change it.

Before starting

  1. Open Buylist Settings and select the product line you want to review.
  2. In Product Grades, confirm each condition name matches the condition text used on your variants.
  3. Set the Retail Discount for each lower condition. Near Mint is usually set to 1, and lower conditions use smaller values such as 0.8 or 0.6.
  4. Save the buylist settings before changing retail rules.

Configure standard condition pricing

  1. Open Retail Rules.
  2. Select the product line.
  3. Open the Default rule or the rule set that should control the items.
  4. In Customize the Generated Price, choose how the price should compare to TCGplayer Market.
  5. Use Advanced Rules if you need a different TCGplayer source, rounding, currency conversion, or default card values.
  6. Save the rule.

Use condition market prices

  1. Open the rule set in Retail Rules.
  2. Open Advanced Rules.
  3. Under TCGplayer Price Source, choose Use Condition Based TCGplayer Market Price instead of General Market Price.
  4. Save the rule and run a price update for the affected products.
Condition market pricing only creates a generated price when TCGplayer has a usable price for that condition. If a condition market price is missing, Storepass will not generate a price for that variant.

Review the results

  1. Use the preview table on Retail Rules to compare TCGplayer, live, and generated prices.
  2. Check the Criteria column to confirm the expected rule set is being used.
  3. If a product says the finish is not set, open the listing and select the correct finish before updating prices again.
  4. If a product says the condition could not be matched, update the product line's Product Grades or the variant condition names.

After changing pricing logic

  1. Run an update from Retail Rules for the product line, or update a filtered group from Products.
  2. Review any products held in the price approval queue.
  3. Use Manual Controls only for exceptions that should stay locked from automation.
